Meet Scott Baker

Hello! I am Scott Baker - a professional drummer with over 25 years of experience teaching, live performance, touring, and in the recording studio. Most recently I was the top-rated percussion instructor at the Bowie, Germantown, and Crofton Music and Arts locations.

I have passed Music and Arts strenuous background checks as recently as 2020.

My Drum Program

As well as ear training, improvisational skills, performance coaching and general musicianship.

Our daughter started at Scott’s studio as an eight year old with little more than two brand-new sticks and a dream to learn how to use them. Now, she’s a hard-rocking, swinging, high school funk machine. Scott taught her the fundamentals of stick technique and has guided her every step of the way through her progression to drum mastery. His recitals have given her a confidence boost that she’s applied to band, choir and stage. Her high school band director wishes she could skip all her other electives so she can join the wind ensemble and jazz band. Our girl is in high demand, and we have Scott to thank for it!

Scott is a great choice if you’re looking for drum lessons. He works with both adults and children and gets along with everyone. He truly cares about the progression of his students as well as what’s going on outside of lessons. He is also extremely accommodating to his students’ needs. Overall, he is a breath of fresh air when it comes to learning a new skill, and is just a wonderful person.

Scott gave our son Sean an amazing foundation.  Scott taught him to read music well, while encouraging him to have fun. He now plays in the drumline of the University of Notre Dame marching band.  Thank you, Scott!
